Game Day Purse Picks

Football season is FINALLY upon us andI am so excited!!  Who will you be cheering for this year?  I am a die-hard Saints fan and I look forward to attending as many games as possible each year.  I am thankful to have a friend that helps me celebrate my birthday each year in New Orleans and this year will be no different.  We already have our rooms booked and tickets ready!  (Oh and I HAVE to put this out in the Universe – I am open to accepting Saints season tickets however they may come to me.  And so it shall be.)

If you have ever attended a stadium football game, you know that there are “stadium-approved” bags that you must use if you want to get past the front doors.  Below is a snapshot of what is approved at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome:

With that said, I thought I would share a few of my pics for STYLISH and stadium-approved  bags.

Imoshion Clear Messenger Bag – This bag has tons of style with the grommets and top handle.  It will hold as much as most medium-sized messenger bags.

Small Bag from Etsy– This is a small clutch-like purse that is perfect for the “just the essentials” girl.

Monogrammed on Etsy– This purse is fairly thin and will hold only necessities.  The good part about this bag is that it is completely flat so it will take up virtually no space in your suitcase!

Round gold– A fun, yet stylish choice for those who want something besides the typical square or rectangle-style purse.  Too bad they didn’t offer this one in a football shape!!

kilofly Women's 2-in-1 Transparent Clear Bag Shoulder Crossbody Purse + WalletAmazon.com– This is the purse I chose to try this year.  (Don’t worry Kim!  I got you one, too!)  This purse also comes with a small wallet to keep your cards and ID hidden from view, as well as a small bag that is perfect for compartmentalizing.  I plan on putting my lipstick, lip gloss, and hand sanitizer inside of it.  The top of this bag clasps shut and you can wear it as a cross-body.

So, which one is your favorite?  Do you have other suggestions, too??  Please share!

CRUSHING for Fall

Well, can you feel it??  Fall is in the air and that means pumpkin lattes, falling leaves, and a warmer wardrobe!  As most of you know, I enjoy adding a few essential items to my wardrobe each season and this time I wanted to share them with you.  I hope you enjoy!

Jo Malone London™ Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne

Yes!  Perfume should be part of your wardrobe and I love this one by Jo Malone.  This larger size is a bit pricey, but they have a smaller version that is comparable to most other high-end perfumes.  Here are the notes – It smells amazing!!  I have already purchased it!

-Top: bergamot, ambrette seeds, buchu leaves.

– Middle: sea salt, mineral accord, dry fruits.

– Base: driftwood accord, guaiac wood, white musk, sage.

To purchase go to Jo Malone or Nordstrom.

Topshop Katrina Buckle Ballerina Flat (Women)

Until very recently I ALWAYS wore high heels (how many of you can attest??), but with children heels are not always feasible!!  I have been searching for the perfect flats, because I prefer myself in heels.  They are elongating and make me feel better about myself and my outfit.  Anyway, I am considering trying these for fall.  What do you think?

These are by TopShop ($68) and can be purchased at Nordstrom.

Oversized Crossover Top

You may just see me in this super cute, oversized sweater from Anthropologie!  I love the comfort that comes with oversized shirts and they look great on all figures.  It’s all about creating the right silhouette for your body type.

You can purchase this top here.

Slide View: 1: The Essential Slim Trouser

Red is one of the hot colors for fall so these cigarette pants would be the perfect addition to your (my) wardrobe!  AND I can wear them with the TopShop flats if I decide to get them!

You can get them at Anthropologie.

Product Image: City Slicker Opal Necklace

I LOVE interesting jewelry and am always a sucker for a cool necklace.  This one follows all of the upcoming trends – choker, gold, and precious stones!

A gorgeous semiprecious-stone beaded and adjustable bracelet that promotes positive vibes – What’s not to like??  This is already in my shopping basket!

Get yours at Nordstrom.

Main Image - 1.STATE Rida Studded Bootie (Women)

These have my name written all over them!  I am SO crushing on them!!  Two things are holding me back – the price ($148) and the real leather (I am trying to limit the amount of real leather I purchase because I care about the animals).  I want them…anyone know a vegan leather shoe that is similar??

I WANT!

Main Image - Leith Grosgrain Cold Shoulder Top

I love cold-shoulder tops!  They add the right amount of interest to any outfit and they look good on everyone!  Shoulders are sexy!!

Get your sexy on!

I hope my crushes have inspired you to start getting your closet ready for fall!!  What are you crushing on?

The 5 Reasons You Have Nothing to Wear!

How often do you walk into your closet and exclaim “I have nothing to wear”?  My guess is that it probably happens every day, even though there is a closet full of clothing staring back at you.  If this sounds familiar, I can help.  Let’s dissect some of the reasons you may be suffering from “I have nothing to wear” syndrome.

  1. You have no idea what is even in your closet!   Some of you may know my backstory, but in case you don’t, let me fill you in – I began my career as a fashion consultant, but quickly realized that I couldn’t help people with their wardrobes if I couldn’t see what they had to work with!!  THAT is where my career as a professional organizer began.  I had to organize each clients’ closet before I could help her with her personal style.  The same goes for you!  If you can’t see what’s in your closet, of course you think you have nothing to wear!  My advice = Take the time to get organized!
  2. You haven’t figured out your personal style.  Personal style is a curious, fun, challenging, and important part of enjoying your wardrobe!  I definitely recommend that you take the time to figure out your own personal style, so here are a few questions to get your started.  What is your lifestyle?  What do you do for a living?  What do you do for fun?  If you could have all of the items from one celebrity’s closet, whose would it be?  What are your best and worst colors?  What was the last outfit that garnered a compliment from someone?  Did you feel like a million bucks in it?
  3. Your current wardrobe is out of sync with your personal style.  It is not uncommon to want or need to change your personal style every few years, so if you’ve found that you truly have nothing to wear, this may be the reason.  Take the time to redefine your personal style and get rid of anything that doesn’t jive with it.
  4. You don’t have the right pieces.    In other words, you are lacking a few key staples of every good wardrobe.  Staples include, but are not limited to, the following – Skinny jeans, boot-cut jeans in a dark wash, camisoles in white, ivory, and black, a few trendy tunics/tops, a neutral-colored cardigan and one in a pop of color, black pants in a flattering fit, a little black dress and a fun, flirty dress, peep-toe pumps in a neutral color and a pop of color, knee-high boots in black and brown, fun accessories that will dress and outfit up or down, an every day purse, a cross-body bag, and an evening clutch.  Wardrobe essentials have a lot to do with your lifestyle and preferences, so keep that in mind when adding to your wardrobe.
  5. You are an impulse shopper.   Impulse shoppers typically purchase items without having any idea when, how, or where she will wear the item(s).  That is a huge no, no!  You should always shop with an agenda and a list!  You will save so much time, space, stress, and money in the long run!  I promise…I had to learn this the hard way.  I LOVE to shop!!  🙂

So, be honest, which of these five reasons speak to you?

Thank you so much for reading!!
