Organizing Christmas Cards
It’s that time of year for receiving Holiday cards and letters, but what do you usually do with all of those cards and letters once they arrive? Do they land in a ever-growing pile on your kitchen counter? Do they go straight to the trash? Do you have an organizing system worked out yet? Let me give you a few ideas!
1. Send the tops of cards (the pretty part) as postcards! Recycle your Christmas cards, so to speak, by sending the top part as a postcard to someone you haven’t spoken to in a while. Not only will it lift their spirit, but it will lift yours, too. There is always something uplifting about making someone else smile.
2. Create a “zone” for them. Christmas cards are fairly easy to recognize upon arrival, so upon retrieval of the mail sort out the cards from the rest of the mail and place them in a pretty basket or on a bulletin board for display.
3. Make them into ornaments. Christmas cards could make pretty cool ornaments! Simply poke a hole in the corner of each, tie a ribbon through the hole, and hang on your tree! You just decorated your tree for $0!!!
4. Scrapbook them! If you are one who likes to hold on to memorable cards, begin scrapbooking them immediately upon arrival or you’ll risk the chance of never getting around to it. You can then lay your scrapbook on your coffee table during the holiday season and browse it when you need a little pick-me-up.
While these ideas are good ones, I’m sure there are more that I haven’t thought of so please don’t hesitate to share those you come up with in the comment section! I’d love to hear from you!
