Introductions are one of the most important part of making a great first impression, so it goes without saying that the more prepared and knowledgeable you are about the correct introduction etiquette…the better the chances are that you will make a great first impression. Afterall, a first impression is made in seven seconds. Every second counts.
Stand, if you are not already, and make direct eye contact with the person you are being introduced to.
Offer a firm grip. A weak handshake will make you seem timid and not in control.
Smile and speak clearly.
Repeat the person’s name you are being introduced to. It will help you to remember their name!
Lastly, offer a “How do you do” of some sort, followed by a “Nice to meet you.”
Introductions are easy and less stressful when you know how to handle them properly and without hesitation.
Hope this helps!
